The following
March 19 story involves these two ladies (and Grandpa and Dad too).
On
March 19, 1945 my Grandmother Dalton --later Luke made her "Great" -- gave birth to Uncle Steve. He is pictured below on the left eyeing what looks to be some sort of cigarette (probably not). Sorry I don't have a more timely photo -- I'm sure at the time he looked more like the infant that Alison is holding (his?)...
Then in 1952 mom married dad. Mom tells the story that while celebrating the 8th birthday of Uncle Steve and on
March 19, 1953 she had to leave Steve's 8th birthday cake uneaten in order to go to the hospital and have Jeff, her firstborn. He is pictured below (the one with the glasses). Again, the photo is somewhat postpartum.
Fast forward two years to
March 19, 1955. Uncle Steve is having another birthday party at Grandma's house celebrating his 10th birthday, and, of course, Jeff is having his 2nd birthday party when mom has to leave the cakes (again) to go let Linc out (he likes cake). Sorry once again for the late photo -- he didn't have a hat in 55'.
On
March 19, 1957 she stayed for all three cakes and did not have another baby (on that day).

Hay Hey, Back in THE day that was not being a weirdi, that was called doing the right thing. Being a weirdi was putting on a white hat, whiting up your teeth, and staring someone down, like a dawg, dawg! Get with the times mama!!
Good memories! Jeff was very upset with me when I came home from the hospital with a baby. He wouldn't leave grandma Jesse' side to come to me because I had brought a new baby home. It took him a few days to come give me a hug again. Well, what can I expect going off and leaving the birthday party et. al. to go get a new baby. Nate always felt badly because his birthday wasn't on March 19th. I kept telling him it was OK to have his own birthday and then Adam comes along and he has to share his too! Clint knows how that feels because he had to share his with Lily. Luvmom
